MN Low-Cost Health Care Directory
Following is a list of low-cost or free health care clinics, including mental health and dental providers. This directory was compiled by Children’s Defense Fund-Minnesota to help uninsured and underinsured Minnesotans find access to affordable health care.

If you or your family members do not have affordable health insurance, we encourage you to first use the Bridge to Benefits screening tool to see if you may be eligible for a Minnesota Health Care Program (Medical Assistance or MinnesotaCare). If you do not qualify for a public health insurance program, then this directory may help you find some low-cost health care options.

Only a few of the health care providers listed offer free health care services. Most offer services at reduced rates. Many use sliding fee scales to determine the cost of services, so providers may ask for household income and family information to determine what you will pay for the services you need. You also may be asked to fill out applications and provide documentations to receive reduced cost or free health care. Please inquire about these requirements and make sure you understand the costs before accepting services.

To use this directory, select the county in which you live. The providers listed there will serve residents in your county. Some providers will serve people from multiple counties or from anywhere in the State. Every attempt was made to include those providers in the appropriate counties. However, if you cannot find help in your county, you should check the lists in nearby counties to see if there is a clinic that will accept you.

This directory is updated regularly, but if you find some of the information is out-of-date, please let us know by calling 651-855-1175.
