The General Assistance Medical Care (GAMC) program was eliminated and the Coordinated Care Delivery Systems (CCDS) were terminated on February 28, 2011. Adults without children may now be eligible for
Medical Assistance (MA), a free health care program. Applicants must meet the citizenship and residency requirements for MA along with meet the income limit of $677 per month for a single adult and $911 per month for a married couple. Eligible persons currently
enrolled in GAMC will be automatically transitioned to Medical Assistance on March 1, and eligible
persons currently enrolled in MinnesotaCare will be automatically transitioned to Medical
Assistance within 6 months. Click here for more information on these changes.
